Cookie Policy
In brief: for visitors, umuttandogan.com ("Site", "we") uses only two cookies that are essential for the site to work. There are no cookies that track or measure your visit or serve an advertising purpose.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file saved in your browser when you visit a site. It lets the site link together the actions you take one after another within the same visit.
Besides cookies, browsers also have an area called "local storage". Information kept there stays on your device and is not sent to the site of its own accord.
Cookies used on this site
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| prof-dr-umuttan-dogan-session | Session cookie. It keeps the connection between pages during your visit; for example, it makes sure you are shown the right information message after a form has been sent. | 2 hours. The period is renewed as you use the site. | Essential, first-party |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Security cookie. It works together with the session cookie and prevents other sites from sending a form on your behalf. | 2 hours. The period is renewed as you use the site. | Essential, first-party |
Together, these two cookies confirm that the contact form really has been sent from this site.
Both cookies are set only by this site and read only by this site. They do not contain your name, your e-mail address or your message; they carry randomly generated technical values.
The session cookie is matched with a short-lived technical record on the server; the details are in the Privacy Notice.
Why is consent not requested for these cookies?
These two cookies are strictly necessary for providing the service you have asked for (opening the pages and sending the form securely) and are not used for any other purpose.
Explicit consent does not have to be obtained for essential cookies of this kind; the processing is based on the legitimate interest in the site working securely (Art. 5/2-f of Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK")). For this reason they are set as soon as you open the site.
The cookie notice and the "Accept" button
When you first enter the site you will see a short cookie notice. The Accept button in the notice does not ask for permission; it simply lets you indicate that you have seen the information and close the notice.
When you press the button, the notice closes and, so that it does not appear again, a single entry is written to your browser's local storage:
- Name: cookie-notice-accepted
- Value: 1
- Purpose: to remember that you have already closed the notice.
- Duration: it stays until you delete it from your browser.
This entry is not a cookie, contains no personal information and is not sent to the server. Pressing the button does not cause a new cookie to be set or lead to you being tracked.
What this site does not have
- Analytics cookies that count visitors or measure behaviour.
- Advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies and pixels.
- Third-party cookies belonging to other companies.
- Maps, videos or social media content embedded in the page.
- A cookie that stores your language preference. The language of the site is determined solely from the page address.
The fonts, images and scripts on the site are also loaded from this site's own server; when you open a page, your browser does not connect to another company's server.
When you click links that lead to other sites, such as WhatsApp, Instagram or a map, those sites' own cookies may come into play. Those cookies are not under our control.
How can you manage cookies?
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser's settings. In most browsers these options are found under the heading "Privacy" or "Privacy and security", in the section "Cookies and site data". You can delete the local storage entry from the same section.
What you need to know:
- When you delete the cookies you can go on reading the pages of the site; the cookies are created again on the next page you open.
- If you block cookies altogether, the contact form cannot be sent. The form is not accepted without these cookies and you will see an error page. In that case you can reach us by telephone or via WhatsApp.
- If you delete the local storage entry, the cookie notice is shown again.
Changes
If a new cookie or a similar technology starts to be used on the site, this page is updated. A cookie that requires consent is not set without your consent being obtained.
For details about the processing of your personal data, see the Privacy Notice and the Privacy Policy.
